Many, many winters ago, before you & I were here, there was The sun APAWI, The moon HANHEPI WI & The stars WICAHPI.
Just like they are here now. but along time ago, they had a big fight, & didn't get along..
It all happened when one day when the moon HANHEPI WI fell asleep & forgot to wake up in the morning to let the sun APAWI to shine on the earth MOKOCE.
The sun APAWI got jealous and thought the moon HANHEPI WI was trying to take over his shine on the earth MOKOCE.
So that day the sun APAWI pretended to forget that it was time for him to go down & let the moon HANHEPI WI shine.
The sun shone so brightly that the people on the earth couldn't get any sleep that night. In fact it was so hot, that everyone was trying to find some shade. He shone so bright that the stars could not be seen that night.
So the People got lost, because they relied on the stars to find their way home.
the stars WICAHPI got upset & they all got together to talk about this problem.
One star said " The sun APAWI is shining so bright its hurting my eyes".
Another star said "He shone so bright last night, that I thought I lost you stars because I could not see you."
They all decided they will have to talk to the sun APAWI & the moon HANHEPI WI & find a solution for this problem.
The stars WICAHPI got together & called for the moon HANHEPI WI & the sun APAWI for a meeting.
They explained to the sun APAWI & the moon HANHEPI WI that if we done work together then the people on the earth MOKOCE will never sleep & die cause the sun is to bright & if there is no sun only the moon shone, then nothing will grow only rest.
The earth MOKOCE needs the sun APAWI to shine for food, animals & people. The Earth MOKOCE needs The moon HANHEPI WI to shine for rest, sleep & the stars.
If the moon HANHEPI WI never shines, the people will never see us, will never find their way home.
Is there a way we can all work together?.
All of a sudden,The earth MOKOCE spoke up and said " This is very silly, fighting over who gets to shine and who doesn't. I need all of you to help keep me healthy & to provide for the people that live here.
The sun Apawi shouted out " The moon HANHEPI WI tried to take over my shining time, I didn't like that".
The stars WICAHPI said " but without the moon HANHEPI WI, the people will never see us".
Then the moon HANHEPI WI sobbed & slowly said.. " I am so sorry. It was an accident, I was so tired after looking after all the people all night that I woke up late. I'm so sorry".
The earth MOKOCE said " I have an Idea!!".
she said " If all of you stay where you are & I spin around, then all of you can shine. One side of me will be day & the other night. Then as I spin around it will change. The night will be day and the day will be night.
Every one agreed with what the earth MOKOCE said.. The sun was happy, the moon was happy & even the stars were happy.
The earth Mokoce reminded them, that working together can do so much more than working alone.
The sun couldn't work alone, neither could the moon or the stars but working together with the earth made them all shine till this day.
If you go outside you will see WICAHPI, HANHEPI WI & wicahpi shining every day & every night.
